Robert Liang is currently a Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council post-doctoral fellow in the department of Biology and the Water Institute at the University of Waterloo under Dr. Mark Servos. Robert completed his PhD degree in 2017 in the Mechanical and Mechatronics Engineering department of Waterloo with a specialization in nanotechnology. His general research area is in utilizing nanomaterials for water treatment applications, specifically utilizing UV-based advanced oxidation applications (AOPs) to remove emerging contaminants.
