Help Us Build the Blue Economy Together

Innovation has long been a part of Lake Erie. But with today’s technology, this unique water source is ripe for innovative advancements that will benefit our city, region, and world.

Yet despite Lake Erie’s essential role in our economy and new technologies, it is too often ignored as an economic engine, data resource and catalyst of innovation. Challenges like harmful algal blooms threaten the lake’s economic impact of $1.3 billion in the next 30 years, yet we continue to fall short in efforts to address the problem.

Cleveland Water Alliance (CWA), a coalition of forward-thinking research institutions, industry leaders, public utilities and agencies partners and environmental organizations, is working to elevate the value of our water through the Blue Economy. This framework of regional economic development focuses on water tech and data innovations as a driver of prosperity, growth and health of our water.

Our aim is to position Lake Erie as a hub next-generation solutions for water challenges and create opportunities to lead emerging global markets and protect and grow this resource at home.

Financially supporting Erie Hack 2.0 is the best way to join us in our mission to lead the Lake Erie region to better value, manage and capitalize on its precious supply of freshwater.

Sponsorship provides high value brand visibility through a national media campaign as well as a unique opportunity to foster civic innovation and engage the community.
